| I was excited by the possibilities of creating a variety of backgrounds to my poppy
designs, using different shades of dye and salt crystals. I've always loved poppies with their
contrasting qualities of intense colour and fragility of petal. Inspired by Matisse’s textile
paintings, I’ve used a bold, naïve style and a vibrant palette of colours to achieve a harmonious
merging of the jug pattern, flowers and background. |
